Global executive search firm DHR International is pleased to announce the placement of Rick Homans as president and CEO of the Tampa Bay Partnership headquartered in Tampa, Fla. The search was completed by David Smith, partner – economic development, and Tina Winner, a partner at DHR International’s Jobplex. The Partnership conducted a nationwide search and interviewed candidates in Florida and throughout the U.S.
Mr. Homans previously served as president and CEO of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation. Prior to that, he served in the cabinet of Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico, as secretary of economic development and, subsequently, as secretary of taxation and revenue. Additionally, Mr. Homans served as president of a New Mexico-based publishing group, and he founded the New Mexico Business Weekly.
Mr. Smith has conducted hundreds of successful search engagements for Fortune 500 corporations, start-ups, and emerging growth firms. His client roster includes public sector and non-profit economic development entities, including foundations, intermediaries, BIDs, university related technology transfer, research parks and incubators, CDCs, government planning agencies, MPOs, development corporations, and workforce development initiatives.
